Cascade Trading and its affiliates are authorized and permitted by Canadian and U.S. regulators to purchase and sell energy, electricity, and environmental products to wholesale energy trading partners across North America. Below are a list of our memberships and programs for our authorization & permits.

Wholesale Electricity

Our Canadian Energy Regulator permits allow for power export from Canada to the U.S. at major interconnections across the country.

Our U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Market-Based Rate Authorization enables us with market-based rate authority for wholesale electricity and natural gas across the U.S.

We are a market member or participant in several regulated competitive energy markets across North America, including Reliability Regions, Power Pools, and Independent System Operators (ISOs):

• California ISO (CAISO)
• Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT)
• Southwest Power Pool (SPP)
• Midcontinent ISO (MISO)
• PJM Interconnection (PJM) [Pending]
• New York Independent System Operator (NYISO)
• ISO New England (ISO-NE)

Environmental products

Cascade Trading takes pride in its focus on energy transition and environmental trading. We are authorized to participate in the following CCA Auction programs:
